Why is the E-NACH mandate tenure set to 10 years?

The 10-year tenure you see for an E-NACH mandate is a standard banking and regulatory setting, similar to how UPI Autopay mandates are created for long durations.

It is designed to:

  • Avoid the need for frequent re-registration
  • Ensure uninterrupted auto-debit capability

This does not mean that your loan or EMIs will run for 10 years.

The mandate only acts as a payment authorisation window — your EMIs will be deducted strictly according to your actual loan tenure.

Once your loan is fully repaid:

  • The mandate automatically becomes inactive for that loan
  • It cannot be used to debit any further amount
